Andrew Gregory, MD, FAAP, FACSM has been in the Sports Medicine Division of the Department of Orthopaedics since 2001. He is an Assistant Professor Orthopedics and Pediatrics as well as the Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. He serves as Team Physician for Hillwood High School, Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities, The Nashville Sounds and USA Mens Volleyball. He is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Sports Medicine. He is a member of the AAP Executive Committee of the Council of Sports Medicine and Fitness and the ACSM Youth Sports and Health Committee. He serves as the Sports Medicine representative for the Tennessee Chapter of the AAP, and recently elected member of the board of directors of AMSSM.

Dr. Gregory grew up in Huntsville, Alabama where he played tennis, soccer, and ran track. He then played on the Men's Volleyball Team at Indiana University while earning a BS in Chemistry. He completed his medical degree and pediatrics residency at the University of Alabama School of Medicine where he covered high school football and UAB Athletics. He then finished a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute where he served as a team physician for Samford University and Shades Valley High School. His research in fellowship dealt with injuries in youth baseball pitchers.

Dr. Gregory has served as a physician at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA and has traveled with the USA Men's National Team to Asia and Europe. He has also covered multiple beach events on the AVP Tour. He is currently participating in research regarding skin infections in athletes, AED use in high schools, corticosteroid injections in knee arthritis, musculoskeletal training for residents, anti-inflammatory use for ankle sprains, and treatment of distal radius fractures in children.

Dr. Gregory has a special interest in treating injuries in child athletes.
